Amy Schumer loves her dad more than anything!
On Thursday, the Inside Amy Schumer creator made sure to prove that by sharing a sweet pic (above) of her real life dad Gordon with actor Colin Quinn — who just happened to play the blonde beauty’s poppa in Trainwreck.
“Good friends cereal box”
Ah, typical Amy. In case you forgot, the comedienne wrote and starred in the semi-autobiographical summer blockbuster where she didn’t even change her dad’s name in the flick. Subtle!
In fact, Gordon’s diagnosis with multiple sclerosis inspired the 31-year-old to explore comedy when she was only a kid. In a previous interview, she shared:
“It was Hunger Games. I was like, ‘I’ll take it from here.’ I tried to make everything okay by making everyone laugh about how horrible things were. It kept us alive.”
We’re not crying, you’re crying! Not to mention, Colin made sure to properly prepare for the part by meeting with Gordon a couple times. On meeting the inspiration behind his character, he previously noted:
“I got the fact that the guy was a wild guy back in the day. Like a real, full-of-life kind of guy. Now, he couldn’t really move. He got MS in his early 40s. So it was dealing with a guy who had this life and then suddenly, he’s still there but he can’t get out there. That’s where it starts.”
Now all we need is one big family photo with Gordon, Amy, Colin — oh, and her new boyfriend Ben Hanisch can be there too! LOLz.
