Hey, are you interested in checking out some very attractive, very visually appealing photos of plus size model and gorgeous human being Ashley Graham?
You are, right? Good on you, you’ve got a good head on your shoulders.
Now, what if we told you that in these photos, Ashley Graham is wearing little to no clothing?
Oh, you’re so in.
Ashley Graham did this wonderful little photo shoot with Grazia UK, and it really says a lot when this photo is the most modest one of the bunch:
Are we blessed, or are we blessed? (Hint: we’re so blessed.)
Ashley also did a pretty great interview to go along with the photo shoot, so, just for fun, let’s weave her words of wisdom with the nude pics. Sound good?
“You have to really talk to your body parts,” she explains in the interview. “The ones you really hate, get in front of the mirror and say; ‘cellulite, you are so sexy; thick thighs YOU are so sexy that you can’t stop groping each other.'”
See what we mean about being blessed?
She has more pearls of wisdom too: at another point in the interview, she says “Sexy is a state of mind and it can come in all shapes and sizes. It is different for every person. It could be full hair and makeup; no hair and makeup. Just out of the shower or going to a red carpet event. All those things to me embody sexy.”
She adds that “I just don’t live my life in a world where I am not feeling my best and feeling my best is feeling sexy.”
Ashley then reveals that her inspirational outlook on life came after she was able to get out of an abusive relationship.
“I had just moved to New York,” she recalls, “my career was on the rise but I wasn’t taking care of my body. I didn’t want to go to the gym, I started really hating who I was, sleeping with the wrong guys, but there was one boyfriend who was physically, mentally, and emotionally abusive.”
But don’t worry, the bad times didn’t last for too long.
“None of my friends could understand why I was with him,” she says, “and I realized I just couldn’t do this anymore. I remember thinking that if I don’t love the woman that I look at in the mirror I am never going to be successful. That was the moment I had to start convincing myself to look in the mirror and start saying ‘I love you.'”
And what’s really great about Ashley is that this isn’t even remotely the first time she’s spouted such body positivity.
Earlier this year, she called out Amy Schumer for seemingly implying that there’s something wrong with being called plus size.
If you’ll remember, Amy took offense to being grouped in with Melissa McCarthy, Adele, and Ashley Graham in a Glamour magazine list of “women who inspire us.”
At the time, Amy said that “there’s nothing wrong with being plus size,” but that Glamour “put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn’t feel right to me.”
Amy said her concern was “Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size?” She thought that Glamour was “not cool” and “not glamorous” for doing this.
Ashley hit back, saying that “Amy talks about being a big girl in the industry,” then directed a comment towards Amy with “You thrive on being a big girl, but when you’re grouped in with us, you’re not happy about it? That, to me, felt like a double standard.”
Throw that in with the legendary photo of Ashley showing off her cellulite, and, well, you’ve got a legend.
Like we said, are we blessed or are we blessed?
