Yet Another Brad Kern Interview

There’s a new interview with Brad Kern (over at about Charmed, mostly the same, old, boring stuff except this paragraph:

Do you think there might be a slim chance the CW network would consider a spin-off? Maybe using the grown up children, Wyatt and Chris?

Honestly, no.  What most of the fans probably don’t realize is that, last year, the show was all but dead. The new regime at the WB, in all of its wisdom, wanted a new direction if they were going to give it another year. They knew that Alyssa, Holly and Rose weren’t going to come back for a 9th season (no matter how much they got paid), so the network told me that the only way they’d pick the show up for an 8th season would be if I could come up with a way to build in characters that could potentially “spin off” for a 9th season. That’s how I came up with Billie and Christy, which convinced the network at the last minute to pick up the show.  Personally, I think both Kaley and Marnette have done an amazing job coming into an existing series and giving it new life; yet, at the same time, it fundamentally changed the show from what it started out to be.  But, that’s the business of television — do whatever you can to get picked up for another season.

Kailyn Lowry to Chris Lopez: Put Another Baby in Me!!!

If it feels like we've been drowing in Kailyn Lowry drama lately, it's because we sort of have been.

There's been all sorts of stuff going on with her feud with Briana DeJesus — we've been seeing the beginnings of it on Teen Mom 2, and it's still happening in real time, too.

And thanks to her weekly podcast, we've been learning all sorts of things about her, like her possible plans for plastic sugery and her desire to have a fourth child.

Oh, and speaking of that fourth child, Kailyn's offered up an update on that situation.

And you're not going to believe it.

1. Baby Daddy Drama

Kail lowry on instagram
So Kailyn has three children right now, and those three children have different fathers: she had her oldest son, Isaac, with high school boyfriend Jo Rivera, then she was married to Javi Marroquin when she had Lincoln, and finally, she conceived little Lux during a fling with Chris Lopez.

2. Good Terms

Kailyn lowry jo rivera photo
In the past, Kailyn and Jo haven’t gotten along, and at one point things were so bad that she even got an order of protection against him. She moved with Isaac from their home state of Pennsylvania to Delaware, but he followed them, and eventually they were able to work things out.

3. OK Terms

Javi kailyn and kids
Kailyn’s also had plenty of ups and downs with Javi — but like, major, major ups and downs. She had an order of protection against him, too, and their divorce was particularly messy. Things were OK with them for a while during her pregnancy with Lux, but he began dating Briana DeJesus shortly after, and things went south again. But now that Javi isn’t dating one of her co-stars, they’re doing all right.

4. And Then There Was Chris

Chris lopez and lux
As for Kailyn’s relationship with Chris … it’s very, very confusing.

Kailyn lowry strolls
We’ve heard a few different stories, but the gist of it seems to be that they were friends who started hooking up, even though he had a girlfriend. It seems like she liked him more than he liked her, but she has said that her pregnancy with him was planned.

6. Oh, Girl …

Kailyn lowry and baby lux at the beach
On the last season of Teen Mom 2, we saw her repeatedly reach out to Chris, only to be ignored. He didn’t seem to want anything to do with her, and for a while, it looked like he wasn’t going to be around for their baby at all.

The Swords Of Ditto Review: One Good Turn Deserves Another

As games continue to grow in scope and complexity, there is something to be said about the light-hearted, compact RPG stylings of The Swords of Ditto. It mixes childlike cartoon visuals and a delightful soundtrack with light puzzles and simple-yet-challenging combat. And while it doesn’t offer anything particularly groundbreaking to seasoned RPG or roguelite fans and backs you into a wall in some confusing ways, the intuitive nature of its systems, along with the inclusion of local two player co-op, makes The Swords of Ditto a fun leap down the rabbit hole into saving a strange and ever-changing cursed town.

The main loop of each playthrough is simple: Wake up, gather a sword from its resting place in the town of Ditto–either from statue or in the graveyard–to become the hero, then seek out the Toys of Legend to destroy the Anchors that the villain Mormo uses to strengthen her grasp on the world, making her easier to defeat in the final confrontation. If you die before then, Mormo wins and Ditto lives under her rule for another 100 years before the new Sword of Ditto is awakened, and the cycle continues. If you succeed, Ditto lives in peace for 100 years until Mormo returns, and it all happens all over again. Getting the hang of this can all feel a little overwhelming at first, but any confusion quickly slips away as the game’s rhythm settles in, and it doesn’t take long to feel comfortable with what’s expected of you.

Co-op play is local only, but the drop-in, drop-out system makes it very easy to have another player come and go at any moment. It also changes up the dynamics of play fairly significantly. Enemies are stronger, as you’d expect, meaning some enemies require a more tactical approach to take down. Items are shared between players, which can put a sudden strain on health items if you’re both struggling to deal with the added difficulty. Thankfully this is alleviated somewhat by an increased item drop rate, so health items can be replenished nearly as quickly as you go through them.

The entirety of the explorable areas are made up of individual sections that are pieced together at random for each playthrough. When out exploring the world, there’s plenty to find and keep you busy. In Zelda-like fashion, you can slice up grass to score more coins or health items. One standout touch: If the weather is dry, you can torch a field of grass and watch it all go up in super-satisfying fashion. Random shops, caves and houses filled with cute and interesting characters dot the world, and while some only share a few repeated lines of dialogue, others offer quests for items or keys to unlock dungeons in other parts of the map. Almost everywhere you look there’s something else to see and do, and it’s this sense of discovery that’s felt when finding these hidden gems that makes The Swords of Ditto so rewarding.

Combat is mechanically straightforward; you can perform a simple melee attack with your sword as well as a roll dodge, and you have four interchangeable gear slots for items or weapons that are accessed using the d-pad. You can also buff your character by applying stickers that you find around the world or purchase within certain shops. It’s all fairly rudimentary, but despite the combat’s relative simplicity the enemies are a huge challenge, and this is where it gets gratifying.

Each foe has its own unique way of attacking or defending, and learning this for each enemy will make you much more effective at taking them down. The three-headed fireball will, if it touches you, turn your sword attacks into healing slashes for a few seconds, forcing you to retreat before the effect wears off. The green slime-ball monster falls harmlessly apart when physically attacked–it’ll only taking damage when it’s set on fire. It takes some time to learn all of this, but when you do, combat feels much more satisfying. You become more capable of clearing large groups of monsters than if you’d just kept slashing away, and having to think each encounter through makes it all the more enjoyable.

While it needs a little refinement, The Swords of Ditto is sure to delight, whether played on your own or with a friend.

Dungeon puzzles are also relatively simple yet engaging. Some involve coloured switches that rearrange the room entirely, altering your path and the enemies within. Some rooms simply involve killing all the enemies to make a key or a chest appear, while others are increasingly more elaborate and labyrinthian. It’s not unusual to come across a room that demands you place a multiple runes in slots that only appear when a certain switch is triggered, all separated by large chasms, locked doors, and rows of floor spikes. Later rooms will combine all of these variables into one, adding a light complexity that manages to keep things breezy and enjoyable.

Alongside the puzzles, each dungeon submits to the Isle of Trials rules–a set of modifiers that changes the rules of how each dungeon works. Early dungeons will only have one or two of these applied, but later playthroughs will throw upwards of four, and they could be anything from negating poison to activating auto-health-regen while prohibiting the use of consumables. These modifiers keep the game and the dungeons feeling fresh, especially in subsequent attempts, offering new challenges that unpredictably swing things either for or against you.

It’s not a game without issue, though. Even while playing on PS4 Pro, The Swords of Ditto can be prone to quite a bit of slow down and stutter, mostly when there are lots of items strewn about. I also had a couple of triggering issues that would block my progress, meaning I had to quit to the menu and reload the game to reset the room. But the biggest problem is the time limit that’s enforced for each playthrough. You are only given a handful of in-game days–which changes depending on difficulty–to explore, gather resources, and complete quests before being forced into confrontation with Mormo at the end of the final day. Not only that, it feels like the days are too short, making some of the more elaborate discoveries difficult to fully engage with in a single playthrough.

While you can unlock the ability to rewind time by collecting enough of a particular type of item and taking them to a shrine, you have to collect yet a second currency to purchase them on top of that. Given that some of the items required for these longer quests are lost with a new character, It feels like you should have this ability to purchase rewinds from the start. This would have given me more confidence to explore more of the game, instead of keeping one eye on the days remaining and the other on whatever tasks are left to complete.

The Swords of Ditto is nothing short of a light-hearted good time. Despite a few bumps getting in the way of progress and some misgivings about the forced time limit per playthrough, it’s still a joy to slash through enemies and collect items while humming the game’s ear-tickling soundtrack. Meeting oddball characters and watching the world react to past playthroughs is a wonderful exercise, and pushing through the game’s barriers to exploration feels rewarding every time. While it needs a little refinement, The Swords of Ditto is sure to delight, whether played on your own or with a friend.

The Kardashians ‘Had Concerns’ About Khloé Kardashian Dating Another NBA Player After Her Divorce From Lamar Odom!

History repeating itself…

As we reported, on Saturday, Tristan Thompson appeared to be kissing a mystery woman — reportedly identified as strip club worker Lani Blair — at an NYC nightclub while pregnant Khloé Kardashian stayed home in Cleveland.

The baller was also caught on surveillance video getting handsy with two women at a Washington, D.C. hookah lounge on October 7, 2017 when the KUWTK star was already three months preggers.

Photos: Tristan Isn’t The First Celeb To Be Accused Of Cheating

According to an US Weekly source, the Kardashians “had concerns” about the Revenge Body host dating another NBA player after her divorce from Lamar Odom.

The insider dished:

“Khloé’s mom, Kris, and sisters Kim and Kourtney, all had concerns about her relationship with another basketball player, and now their fears appear to have serious merit… Women are constantly throwing themselves at professional athletes, and it’s very easy to stray when teams are on the road… Kris never expressed her fears to Khloé because she felt it would cause nothing but drama and create tension.”

Sadly, this isn’t the first time KoKo has allegedly dealt with infidelity. The source added:

“After the living hell that Khloé had to deal with while married to Lamar with the constant cheating, her sisters had wanted her to date a non-athlete.”

Despite the drama, the Good American designer is focused on her pregnancy, and nothing else:

“Khloé is focusing on delivering a healthy baby… She doesn’t want to deal with any of these rumors regarding Tristan kissing another woman.”

Stay strong, girl!

Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra: We’re Going to Have Another Baby!

It’s no secret that Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra haven’t been having the easiest time in life recently.

Their latest string of hardships is basically their entire storyline on this season of Teen Mom OG.

Last summer, things seemed to be going so well for them: they were having fun with their children’s clothing business, Tierra Reign, and it looked like she was starting to come out of her depression a bit.

They both looked happier together than they had in a long time, and they even decided to start trying for another baby.

Unfortunately, shortly after Catelynn learned she was pregnant, she suffered a miscarriage, and it was extremely tough on both her and Tyler.

He’s said multiple times that even though that baby was never fully formed in the womb, it was fully formed in their hearts, and that’s how they’re grieving the loss.

Shortly after the miscarriage, Catelynn began contemplating suicide, and so she checked herself into a treatment center.

Before completing treatment, she checked out early in hopes of spending Christmas with her family, but she quickly realized she wasn’t ready for that, and so back to rehab she went.

After she did complete that round, she spent a few weeks at home before once again heading back to treatment to get her meds sorted.

She also said that she needed to work through some trauma she experienced in her childhood, which was definitely for the best.

Even just watching a heavily edited MTV reality show filmed during parts of her childhood, we’d definitely recommend counseling for having gone through that.

She returned home at the end of February, and since then, she’s been taking every opportunity to raise awareness of mental illness and how difficult it can be for the people who suffer from it.

In one interview, she revealed that she’d recently been diagnosed with PTSD. and that she also has panic disorder and depression.

And in this new interview done on Kailyn Lowry’s podcast, she’s revealing even more about the current state of her mental health.

“I feel way better,” Catelynn said, explaining that she’s on a whole new set of medications now.

“I did genetic testing and found out that the medication I was on for five years doesn’t even work for me,” she told Kailyn. “So they put me on different medications and they seem to be working really well.”

On top of that issue, she said that her problems all stem “from the trauma in my past, so I’m going to have to keep digging deep into that.”

As for her reasoning behind sharing so much of her recent struggle on Teen Mom OG, she said “I think it needs to be out there.”

“That stigma needs to go away because people need to talk about it. It’s out there and it’s real and it affects people, even normal people, people on reality TV, moms, etc.”

Tyler, who was also there for the interview, added that “A lot of people will comment on social media and they’ll just say the nastiest things and it’s all through ignorance because they don’t really understand the disease or understand the illness.”

“They keep thinking, ‘Oh, you’re depressed. Just get up and get a hobby and fix it,’ and it all comes out of pure ignorance.”

“The more we talk about it,” he continued, “the more educated people become about it and will lesson that stigma.”

Then in some extra sweet news, they revealed that they’re still planning on having more children.

“I want more kids,” Tyler admitted. “I definitely do.”

Catelynn confirmed that “We definitely want more kids, especially after the miscarriage and stuff.”

“We’re kind of not rushing into things right now, because we were there, and then I had the miscarriage, and then I just went downhill, so I want to make sure that I’m healthy and happy.”

She said that she’s still working on herself, which is wonderful, and that if/when they are ready to try for another baby, it will be “awesome.”

It does sound like she’s in a much better place these days, and that she knows she needs to do a lot of work on herself before trying to get pregnant again.

And really, what more could we ask for?

As always, best of luck, Baltierras!

Lamar Odom: Headed for Another Health Crisis?

Oh dear. Lamar Odom is reportedly back at it again, making the rounds and indulging himself in Las Vegas.

What happens in Vegas does not, in fact, stay there, and multiple witnesses are describing exactly what they saw go down.

Is he spiraling out of control again?

The world remembers how, just a few years ago, Lamar Odom suffered a horrifying medical crisis that many feared would claim his life.

He was rushed from the Vegas brothel to the hospital. By mistake, Khloe was initially told that he had died.

The situation was so dire that Khloe asked a judge to bring their divorce to a grinding halt so that she could make any medical decisions necessary.

And so that she could supervise his recovery — which she eventually did, practically nursing him back to health.

Between that and major health scares like Lamar’s collapse at a night club late last year, you’d think that he’d be being careful.

Unfortunately, it sounds like he’s putting himself at risk again.

RadarOnline reports that, per multiple eyewitnesses who spilled everything to them, Lamar Odom is back in Vegas.

And it doesn’t sound like a social visit.

They report that Lamar returned to Vegas for gambling last week, and that his indulgence lasted multiple days and spanned two different casinos.

One was the Wynn Hotel and the other was SLS.

And they describe the reports of eyewitnesses.

The first, who saw him on March 4th, describes spotting him nearby.

“He was right at the table next to me gambling.”

They went on, saying how casually they were able to engage with him.

“He was very easy to approach.”

Another who saw him on March 5th.

“I was kind of surprised to see him in Vegas after the events of his last foray out there that nearly cost him his life.”

This isn’t the first time that Khloe’s ex has been spotted tempting fate.

Reportedly, Lamar was drinking on New Year’s. Drinking alcohol can be fun, but surely it’s not worth risking your life.

But it is his life to throw away.

Recently, he appeared to throw shade at Khloe over her pregnancy.

That did not go over well, and prompted Kim Kardashian to slam Lamar by reminding him of his brush with death in Vegas.

One might wonder if Lamar is in Vegas purely to defy the Kardashians.

But it’s important to note that Lamar was, per the reports, just gambling.

The former NBA player wasn’t accused of drinking or anything else here. And while Lamar did have a health crisis in Vegas, it was not because he was gambling.

It’s possible that some fans are overreacting because they worry about his health.

But … someone has to worry about his health, right?

And since Khloe Kardashian is happily with Tristan Thompson and eagerly expecting the birth of their daughter and being a happy family together, we’d say that she has her hands a little too full.

She can’t babysit Lamar anymore. He needs to look after himself.

The Bachelor Recap: After the Final Rose, and Breakup … ANOTHER PROPOSAL!!

In the aftermath of Arie Luyendyk’s stunning reversal, The Bachelor: After the Final Rose special was guaranteed to be literally unprecedented.

With the dust still settling from the most painful 40-minute scene in the history of reality TV, what could the ABC hit do for an encore?!

Having dispatched his first fiancee, Arie wasted no time trying to lock down a second on night two of this five-hour finale event.

Would Lauren Burnham, spurned on The Bachelor finale for Becca, go along with his grand switcheroo and grant him another chance?

Would The Bachelor spoilers, which accurately called Arie ending his engagement with Becca Kufrin, be proven correct once again?

Indeed, and indeed.

By 8:30, we’d seen Arie travel to Virginia Beach, hurriedly explain his dubious actions to Lauren, and have her take him back enthusiastically.

Oh, okay. Cool!

In need of some filler, Chris Harrison brought out Tia Booth, Caroline Lunny, Bekah Martinez and Kendall Long to gauge their reactions.

Suffice it to say, they weren’t fans.

Bekah thinks Arie is a tool and Lauren should run for the hills. Seinne thinks that Arie playing up the big “risk” he’s taking was nonsense.

All five of the guests seem to genuinely like Lauren, LOVE Becca, and loathe Arie for being a disingenuous, indecisive waffler.

Yup. Pretty much sums it up.

Then s–t got real. For the second consecutive night, Becca was kind (brave, strong) enough to face the music … and her former fiance.

Drum roll please …

Becca wasted no time putting the screws to her ex over the timetable of his now-infamous “reaching out” to Lauren during their engagement.

Arie’s explanation of “wanting to get his thoughts in order” before doing what he needed to do came across as marginal at best.

She also took him to task for so quickly closing the door on their relationship – their engagement – rather than trying to open it.

All valid points. He didn’t dispute them.

Luyendyk owned the fact that he proposed to her when his heart wasn’t in it, chalking that up to the enormous pressure of the moment.

An explanation is not an excuse, as she pointed out and he openly admitted, saying he’ll always regret what he put her through.

All is forgiven?

Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, a duo that certainly knows what Arie and Lauren are about to go through, sat down for more filler.

The highlight of which was Jason recommend that Arie get out of dodge for a few weeks, and Chris Harrison adding, “or a few years.”

Finally, after an hour and 15 minutes, Arie and Lauren took the stage together to tell us her side of the story – and where they stand.

Long story short: Totes together.

Did she see this coming? No, she says … but she hoped that it would just the same, and clearly, she embraced it 100 percent.

Lauren professed her love, praising Arie’s bravery, honesty and respectfulness, and saying she trusts him with her heart completely.

CRICKETS from the audience.

Haters gonna hate, as they say, but Arie says he’s gonna shake it off. So to speak. His paraphrasing of that was “it doesn’t matter.”

Not only are Arie and Lauren together, they seem remarkably content with that fact and the unconventional route they took to get there.

Still crickets from the gallery.

The tension in the air was so thick, you could cut it with a knife, but that would soon change thanks to the ultimate ice-breaker:

ARIE GOT DOWN ON ONE KNEE and proposed to her on live television. Lauren Elizabeth Burnham cried as she said yes.

It was actually dramatic!

Yeah. No one was entirely sure how to react to that, but there were no mixed emotions about the announcement of the next Bachelorette:

Becca Kufrin!!

This was a no-brainer for the show, or anyone who knows Becca, and anyone who watches the show, and anyone with a pulse honestly.

The only variable was Becca herself; Kufrin would’ve been forgiven for going into a witness protection program after this winter.

Not the case, though. Her heart is on the mend, she has a lot of love to give (her words), and she’s ready to find the man of her dreams.

Form an orderly queue, gents. Like … now. Becca met some of the men from her season immediately after this announcement!

Gotta hand it to ABC.

After the drama of last night, absent more epic bombshells, the After the Final Rose denouement was bound to feel anticlimactic.

It was, but at the same time, it offered CLOSURE (drink!) and tied up loose ends while offering a number of feel-good moments.

A public apology, a surprise engagement and a beloved new Bachelorette. Good luck topping that in 2019, future Bachelor.

Scott Baio: Accused of Physical Assault by Another Actor

Former child actress Nicole Eggert has accused Scott Baio of sexual abuse, alleging that he molested her starting at the age of 14 when they both worked on Charles in Charge.

One of the people who has backed up her story is former costar Alexander Polinsky.

In Polinsky’s new statement, he levels some accusations of his own at Scott Baio.

In a statement that Polinsky sent in to The Talk, he reveals:

“Working on the set of Charles in Charge from age 11 to 15 was no picnic, it was a toxic environment.”

Child actors are the most vulnerable people on any set. They deserve better.

“I witnessed Scott Baio acting inappropriately towards Nicole Eggert during my first year of working on the show.”

As Nicole has mentioned, some of Scott Baio’s alleged inappropriate behavior took place on or near the set.

“I walked in on them together behind the set. Nicole was on Scott’s lap and he did not appreciate my intrusion.”

That matches well with what Nicole has described.

“He yelled at me and called me various homophobic slurs.”

A horrible way to treat anyone, but an inexcusable way for a grown man to speak to a child.

This becomes even more upsetting, however, as Polinsky then details his own accusations.

“Growing up on the show I received regular verbal attacks, mental abuse, and I also suffered a physical assault at the hands of Scott Baio.”

What kind of disgusting adult physically assaults a child?

“There is no excuse for his behavior. It is abhorrent.”

He emphasizes Scott’s age difference (Scott Baio is 11 years older than Nicole; his age gap with Alexander is even wider)

“Both Nicole and I were minors. We deserved safe passage to do our jobs and also be kids.”

Polinsky then lays out what he believes needs to change in order to make a safer, better world.

“If we want to change the culture, we have to bring out the truth, take back control from the abusers, and make them listen to the pain of their victims.”

That is true. He also has less abstract advice.

“For the sake of the next generation of young artists we must empower parents and social workers to heed the signals, ask the proper questions, and protect children from monsters in the workplace.”

On-site safety monitors, particularly for children, could be vital to preventing situations like this from happening in the future. And those worried about being “falsely accused” should want that, too.

“The cycle of abuse must stop. Even 30 years after the acts, they still matter.”

As Nicole Eggert has described in detail, Scott Baio allegedly began his sexual abuse of her when she was 14 and he was 25.

He was an adult, he was a star, and he was effectively her boss. And, according to her accusations, he digitally penetrated her in the garage of his house.

The alleged abuse went on about once a week until she was 17, at which point the two had sexual intercourse. From her account, Baio may have lost interest at that point.

She also says that he cautioned her that if anyone found out, the show would be canceled and everyone would lose their jobs.

Nicole Eggert has reported Scott Baio to police, and we note that California law does give prosecutors one year to charge him now that police have been told (despite the time delay; this law was written specifically for situations of child abuse).

For his part, Scott Baio has vehemently denied Nicole Eggert’s accusations.

He has claimed that he and Nicole Eggert had sex, but only after she “seduced” him at his house and only when she was 18.

He has also claimed that he never saw Nicole off of the set of Charles in Charge.

Baio has attacked Nicole, claiming that she cannot be believed because her story has allegedly changed over the years.

Some wonder if there are others mustering the courage to speak out with their own stories of working with Scott Baio.
